UNA Poggio dei Medici Golf Club
Tucked away in the Mugello hills, in the town of Scarperia, just 25km from Florence, lies the top-quality golf course of UNA Poggio dei Medici Golf Club. Designed by architect Alvise Rossi Fioravanti and Florentine professional golfer Baldovino Dassù, welcome to one of the most prestigious courses in Italy. Ugolino
Perched on top of a hillock surrounded by meadowland, the clubhouse is a perfect example of the futuristic or art deco school of architecture. The 18 holes circle the building and the stunning view from the huge terrace on the third floor is well-worth the climb. Designed by Cecil Blandford and Peter Gannon, the course blends effortlessly with the natural curves and contours of the sloping Chianti countryside. Winding through vines, olive trees, maritime pines and broom, this is not a long course but definitely a challenging one. Obstacles come in the guise of defiant bunkers, misleading slopes and tricky trees. Beauty and the Beast rolled into one.
Castelfalfi
Take a swing at the largest golf course in Tuscany. 27 holes await the most daring golfers. Breathtaking scenery and challenging fairways have something to offer both seasoned players and passionate beginners. The prestigious architects Rainer Preissmann and Wilfried Moroder have designed an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole suitable for all players. Beautifully embedded into the typical Tuscan countryside and situated 300 meters above sea level, the courses offer spectacular views over the hills of high Tuscany.
