Along the entire route, make sure you pay attention to the architecture and the tiles that finish some facades, often in an Art Nouveau style reaching right up to the roof.

For dinner, you will head to the “House of Fados” for a truly artistic experience in Bairro Alto. This typical restaurant founded in 1937 by Armando Machado is one of the most famous Fado (a popular genre of Portuguese music) houses in Bairro Alto.  Portuguese gastronomy and cuisine with a sophisticated "twist".

Day 2: Day tour of Sintra and Belém

On this day, your tour will take you to 2 of Portugal’s most historic spots. The first is the Belém quarter, where the ships from the 15th century set off on their world expeditions to the distant continents of Africa, Asia, India and South America. Arrive at the enchanting town of Sintra, a UNESCO world heritage town with magnificent palaces and a wine estate, Casal Santa Maria, which is the furthest west of continental Europe. This property with 7 hectares of vineyards belongs to the lovable Baron Bruemmer and is surrounded by gardens, fruit trees and centuries-old trees in a romantic and bucolic environment very distinctive of Sintra. After the visit, you can taste 4 of their finest wines.

Enjoy lunch by the waves at a cozy terraced restaurant that offers an amazing location with stunning views of the sea. The menu is based on fish and seafood from the shores, some locally caught.

Discover the beautiful city of Sintra, a town of much-loved kings, nobles, poets, painters and artists, one of the most delightful places to be found in Portugal. Sintra's beautiful surroundings of forested hills are the perfect setting for the town's many elegant palaces, castles and museums. It is classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.

Day 3: Alentejo and Évora

Start off your day after breakfast, by heading over to the region of Alentejo, a land where the sun shines 250 days per year. There are plenty of monuments to visit here from the age of the Romans, the Moors, the Portuguese strongholds during the battles with Spain, to the monasteries from a once quite active clergy. Alentejo’s history and heritage also speak of a land of great wines, delicious traditional foods, the likes of local kinds of honey and jams, wild game, cheeses and authentic convent pastries.

From here on, you can make your way to Évora. Évora has its origin in the Roman Empire period and was marked by the Arabian occupation between the 7th and 12th centuries. The city extends itself over a hill at the golden plain of Alentejo and guards its historic center with a vast outer wall. It represents a valuable cultural legacy that UNESCO has classified as World Heritage. Check in to your 5-star hotel in Évora, Convento do Espinheiro Hotel, and you can retire for the day.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will depart for the scenic Alentejo region. Today, you will explore the traditional Alentejo region with its vast plains, olive and cork trees, free roaming cattle and millennial monuments. The highlight will be a gastronomic experience with wine harmonization at a top Alentejo wine estate. Located in an area of wonderful nature and heritage, the Herdade do Esporão wine estate is surrounded by the Alentejo’s montado ecosystem (cork oak forest). Here, over 700 hectares of vineyards are planted with around 40 grape varieties, olive groves and other crops growing using organic methods and integrated production. The olive oils -exclusively extra virgin and virgin- are produced using natural methods and entirely traditional processes. You will visit the olive oil press and taste 3 olive oils produced at the estate, followed by a 5-course lunch with the paring of 3 wines at the Esporão restaurant.
