A magnificent 19th century white stoned country house on the Mondot hilltop, houses two individually decorated bedrooms and one suite, each narrating the estate’s history in its own way.

The wood-panelled ‘Edouard’ room features late 19th-century decor and carmine fabrics – named after owner Edouard Troplong, who added his surname to the property’s name, inherited from his uncle.

Located on the upper floor, ‘L’Atelier’ or ‘The Art Studio’ suite, is a nod to former owner Madame Valette’s painting studio, with two bedrooms and very own sitting room and fireplace – overlooking the sprawling hills and tawny rooftops of Saint-Émilion.

The Bell Tower room is aptly named due to its breathtaking views over Saint-Émilion’s monolithic church and iconic bell tower. Inside exposed beams give the space character and warmth. Downstairs in the spacious living spaces, rustic tones, local stone fireplaces and vintage furniture evoke the feeling of a family home, whilst the shared terrace is the perfect spot to gather for a glass of wine, accessible from all suites.

Hidden away in the middle of the vines, along a path lined with hydrangeas and lavender bushes, The Vineyard House offers the most intimate experience on Troplong Mondot’s estate – for those in search of complete serenity and seclusion, walking distance to the heart of the village of Saint-Émilion. Typical of local style, the rustic property comprises a sitting room, two double bedrooms with private bathrooms and a sun-bathed terrace.

Guests staying in all accommodations will start the day fuelled by a delicious breakfast of seasonal fruit and juices from the orchard, homemade jams and artisanal pastries, prepared by our Chef David Charrier – as well as local produce, such as dried meats from Louis Ospital and cheeses from Van der Horst.
