Exclusive photo exhibition of Argentina's wine country

The leading English critic presented his photography exhibition in Susana Balbo's winery. It is the first time he exhibits in Argentina.

In addition to being a recognized Master of Wine, journalist and one of the most relevant wine critics in the world, Tim Atkin is a photographer. His hobby of collecting modern photographs for over a decade, motivated him to take his own throughout his travels around the world.

In his visit to Argentina, in addition to leading the Premium Tasting Mendoza 2017, he presented his photography exhibition "Mi Mirada Argentina" in Osadía de Crear, one of the restaurants of Susana Balbo Wines. This was a private event for about 70 people, including winemakers, businessmen and local press, who enjoyed 25 photographs taken by Tim in different parts of Argentina that he visited over several years. His photos reflect the country’s beautiful landscapes, everyday activities involving vineyard workers and portraits of renowned winemakers.

Atkin is undoubtedly a great self-taught photographer. Despite this, he took photography classes at the London School of Photography and at the London Institute of Photography. His great ability to capture the magic of a moment, someone’s gestures or the beauty of a landscape, has been praised in the various places where he has presented his work.

Tim Atkin says that if one of his photos was to receive 100 points Atkin, it would have to be "Hanging in there" -a shot of a boy playing with his mother outside a house in Buenos Aires that he took from a taxi.

There are certain landscapes that inspire Atkin, like the Andes Mountains and Iceland. He also enjoys making portraits.

His photos have been published in The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, Decanter, Imbibe and Wine Spectator, among others.

He has also been recognized in a large number of competitions. In 2013, he received a special mention of Terroirs d'Images in France, and was a finalist at the National Theater’s Port Urban Photography Competition. More recently, he was shortlisted in the category "Artistry of Wine" of the Annual Louis Roederer Awards, whose finalist will be announced in September 2017.

In the world of wine, Tim Atkin, has been described as "someone with an eye as sharp as his palate".

Tim Atkin, is not only a renowned wine critic; he has also proven to be a great artist: for now, only with photography, but in the future, he may also get involved with music as he has confessed that he is passionate about singing.
