Fully-customizable 7-Day Australia Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Perth

Check into what is considered by many to be Australia’s best city hotel: COMO The Treasury, a contemporary luxury hotel in mid 19th century buildings in Perth’s historic heart, and relax at the COMO Shambhala Spa.

You can also venture out and discover the lush parks, outstanding beaches and, for wildlife enthusiasts, if you are there during the season: the annual whale shark migration.

Day 2: Transfer to Margaret River

Your private car and driver will take you down the stunning Indian Ocean coast to Margaret River.  This food and wine paradise, surrounded by 100km of coastline is exceptional: it combines pristine white beaches, ancient jarrah forests, rolling hills of vines and five stars food. Farmer’s markets and specialty food producers contrast with the Australian bush landscape. The region's vineyards may represent less than five per cent of Australia's total volume of wine, but twenty per cent of its premium output, known for its award-winning Cabernet Sauvignons and Chardonnays.

Day 3: Discover Margaret River wines

You private guide will drive you to Cullen Wines, one of the oldest family wineries at the heart of the Margaret River. Biodynamic and 100% carbon neutral, they are highly motivated by bringing the purest sense of terroir to the wine.

Spend the morning touring the historic vineyard, where a guide will take you through the fascinating world of biodynamics. During a unique tasting you will discover exclusive new releases and rare museum wines.

Transfer to The Voyager Estate for a tour, tasting and lunch: after a behind-the-scenes estate tour in the vineyard and the large underground cellar, where you will taste wine straight from the barrel, you will experience the Discovery Menu. Each dish on this seven-course tasting menu represents part of the story of Voyager Estate’s grapes from the vine to glass and is paired to an aged or limited-release wine. The dishes are crafted to complement the wine styles, while showcasing the finest seasonal produce from the Margaret River region.

Return to your hotel for a light evening meal.

Day 4: Fly to Melbourne

Return to Perth by road, helicopter or light plane where you will connect for your flight to Melbourne, known for its relaxed urbanity, culture and world-beating restaurants.

Arrive in Melbourne and check in to your town centre hotel. Our local experts will be happy to recommend a town centre hotel and restaurant for this evening based on your personal preferences.

 

Day 5: Melbourne and the Yarra valley Gourmet food and wine discovery

The Yarra Valley wine is a historic wine region, reborn in the 1960s and 1970s as one of the most creative and pioneering wine regions in Australia. These cool-climate elegant, wines are the perfect match for the valley’s fine regional produce, as you will discover on your gourmet adventure from city to country.  You will sample the diverse and modern cuisine of one of Australia's coolest cities, as well as the rich, wholesome food and wine of the famous Yarra Valley.

You will spend a few hours with your local guide exploring inner Melbourne’s urban food scene, its stunning local boutiques, buzzing lanes and hidden treasures. Taste fresh cheese in Little Italy, visit local galleries and bizarre businesses in eclectic bohemian villages, and all before lunch.

A short, scenic drive will take you to the Yarra Valley, famous for its elegant cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the region also boasts world-class structured Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, rounded fruity Sauvignon Blanc and crisp Pinot Grigio or rich Pinot Gris. Some top-class bubbly will also be on your Yarra Valley wine tasting agenda to go with the delicious local produce on offer for lunch.

Return to Melbourne and dine in one of the restaurants that took your fancy that morning.

Day 6: Discover Victoria Wines at the Strathbogie Ranges wine region and the Mornington Peninsula

You will cover a lot of ground today so there is plenty of nourishment on the menu to sustain you!

Transfer to Fowles Farm in the cool climate Strathbogie region of Victoria.

Arrive at their Cellar Door Cafe in time for morning tea or coffee with a selection of home-baked cakes and tarts.

Head out on a short drive to the historic homestead of Killeen Station and embark on a tour of the grounds to discover the beauty of one of Victoria’s first farming properties followed by an informative but casual wine tasting with a wine expert and discover the standout varietals of the cool climate Strathbogie Ranges wine region.

Then, transfer to the tip of the Mornington Peninsula for an exclusive afternoon picnic at Montalto.

After a for a unique behind the scenes tour of the winery, you will taste Montalto’s range straight from the barrel to understand the important changes taking place in the vineyard as the grapes mature and in the winery as the wines develop. You can follow up the tour with a unique private picnic for the afternoon. Your table will be set with white linen, proper tableware and glassware. Freshly prepared food inspired by the best of the season will accompany a wine selection.

A private transfer to Tahbilk to the North of Melbourne where you will enjoy a full day of history, wine, food and stunning surroundings at one of Australia's oldest wineries.

Begin your day with a history experience of winemaking. You will see the original vats first used in the 1800’s, still used today for the fermentation of the traditional red wines. In the modern winery you will learn why some older techniques are still preferred and where new practices produce a better wine.

Guided by a Wine Ambassador you will learn the art of blending, creating your own wine, leaving with a bottle of your very own blend.

After a relaxed two-course lunch at Tahbilk’s Wetlands Café, created with the finest local produce and served with a matching glass of wine at each course, you will finish your experience with a Wetlands Ecology Tour, where an expert guide will walk with you through the wetlands trail and explain the work being done to save the endangered species that live in the wetlands.
