You will be picked up at your hotel by an English-speaking driver. Then, a transfer will take you to the south-east area of Sicily through the late Baroque Towns, whose heritage, both for its importance and beauty, has been declared as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. The first stop will be at Scicli to visit “GliAromi Farm”, where owner Enrico will meet you. This farm cultivates native plants and aromatic herbs. It also focuses on local species of the Sicilian coast, and in particular of the Iblean area. The farm produces more than 120 different varieties of plants and herbs using old, traditional methods of manual cultivation. You will sample the different varieties of herbs and see how they are used in Sicilian cooking alongside other local products for lunch. You will then head towards Modica, where you can admire picturesque lanes and narrow streets with many old workshops, and the Church of St. George. Then, it is off to Antica Dolceria Bonajuto, the oldest pastry shop of Sicily, to taste the famous chocolate of Modica. The pastry chef will explain the secrets of Modican chocolate, which is produced with only two ingredients, cacao and sugar.
