Exclusive Elgin Valley gourmet & wine experience

Leave Cape Town for the Elgin Valley, a region known for its cooler climate, yielding aromatic white wines & elegant red wines.

On the way, visit one of the oldest farms in Somerset West to taste the best olives and olive oils produced in the South Africa, before heading over the stunning Sir Lowry’s mountain pass crossing the Hottentots Holland Mountain range. Stop at the legendary Peregrine Farm Stall for some coffee and rusks and to browse the many locally-produced farm goods, from honey and chocolates, to preserves and cheeses, to fresh local apples produced in the Valley.

Visit one of the many intimate wine farms in the Elgin Valley. Here you will get a feel for the off-the-beaten-track intimacy which Elgin is famous for amongst locals, and taste some of the best wines this region has to offer.

Once we’ve had our fill of wine, we will head off for a leisurely lunch at The Pool Room. This restaurant is famous for locally sourced produce, acorn-fed pork and free-range beef, taken in a beautiful setting amongst the estate’s majestic oak trees and swimming pool.

After lunch, depending on your preference, we will head toward a family-run craft cider farm, where we will be treated to some of the most innovative ciders in the country or a local MCC farm to try some very special bubblies.
