The jewel of Pomerol

Exclusive wine experiences at Château Petit-Village in Bordeaux, France

One single vineyard on the highest part of Pomerol... A unique terroir for a Merlot/Cabernet blend that gives our wines their distinctive style.

Activities

Château Petit-Village is located on the highest part of the magnificent Pomerol plateau at an altitude of between 35 and 38 meters. The 10,5ha vineyard is shaped like a triangle in the heart of the Pomerol appellation, where it benefits from all the meticulous attention and know-how of the team at the estate.

At Château-Petit Village, each plot has its own personality and is planted with the corresponding vines: those facing the Southwest get optimum exposure to the sun; the gravel soil reflects the sunlight onto the bunches and provides effective drainage; clay keeps the subsoil cool and allows the vine roots to dig down deep in time of drought.

Château Petit Village is mainly planted with Merlot. It differs from most Pomerol wines in that it also includes a high level of Cabernet (25%). The successful combination of the traditional Pomerol varieties with Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes provides aromatic complexity and a long, delicate finish. The fresh and spicy Cabernet Sauvignon enhances this blend whilst poviding both depth and structure, allowing the wine to age better.
