A long history in wine-making

Château Siran is located at the south of the Margaux Appellation. It is a beautiful vineyard of 89 acres that produces wines that have been recognized as exceptional during the last classification attempt. Spread across 25 hectares in the Margaux appellation, 9 hectares in Bordeaux Supérieur and 2 hectares in Haut-Médoc, Chateau Siran has been historically making delicate, fine and deliciously flavoursome wines.

And it is to this end that Siran’s vineyard manager and cellar-master carry out their painstaking work throughout the seasons, bringing to the tables of wine enthusiasts, beginners and experts alike, the quintessence of our 36 hectare vineyard.

In 2007, the 7th generation of the family, in the person of Edouard Miailhe, took over the management of the estate. Château Siran is one of the very rare Bordeaux wine estates to have belonged to the same family for over 150 years. Since 2014 the Château has re-opened its doors. Each visit is now an opportunity for us to help you get to know our heritage.

Visit the Collection Cellar

This unique collection, made up of about 300 objects, is the fruit of a passion shared for many years by the Miailhe family.  The most significant items have been chosen to feature in this cellar. Our Collections Cellar is situated between the Portrait room and our brand new barrel cellar to showcase different objects relating to wine and art.

These objects are displayed by theme, either in a group or individually. They subtly interact with the cellar and provide a prologue to our tours. As with all great wines, these objects are an invitation to travel back in time, from the 3rd century BC to the 19th century, and to illustrate the passion of wine and the art of wine tasting.

From the terrace, with a panoramic view of the vineyard, to the heart of our new “Collections Cellar”, we are delighted to welcome you in a setting that combines the authentic with the modern. Come and visit Siran's old oak vat room, its Collection Cellar and enjoy the wonderful 360° view from the terrace over the appellation while tasting its delicate wine!
