Château Beauregard

Château Beauregard is located in the famous Protected Designation of Origin Pomerol area close to Saint-Émilion. The 42-acre vineyard, under organic cultivation, is on the Catusseau plateau in a region which has given birth to some of the most prestigious wines in the world like Cheval Blanc and Pétrus.

Beauregard's history can be traced back to the Knights Hospitaller of St. John of Jerusalem, who were really active in the Pomerol area at the time and owned a small manoir on the current site. Five centuries later, the Beauregard family built a new property on the same place, which was replaced by the present-day château in Napoleonic times. Beauregard moved from polyculture to viticulture, and became one of the first estates to extend its vineyard.

Since 2014, the Moulin family (from Galeries Lafayette) and the Cathiard family (from Château Smith Haut Lafitte) own Château Beauregard. In 2015, the estate underwent a far-reaching transformation aimed at restoring it to its former glory. Without touching the classical architecture of the site, the bicentury-old-Carthusian monastery has been entirely renovated and now has 5 bedrooms, which can be rented, and 2 reception rooms. This house on two floors opens on to a terrace with two dovecotes standing above a moat and looking out onto a magnificent two-hectare park, reflecting all the elegance of the estate's wine.

Moreover, a new cask storage cellar was created, with a new vat room housing 22 temperature-controlled concrete vats. This new cellar is both practical for technical teams but also really aesthetic. Just next door, you will find a fabulous 200m² room to receive and sort the grapes during harvest time. This room can also be used to receive visitors and host events throughout the year.

For the first time in 2016, Château Beauregard opened its doors to welcome wine lovers and share with them the mysteries of its wines.
