Our boutique and most of our winery are on one level, therefore adapted to people with reduced mobility.

The story of La Cavale goes back to the 1970s, when Paul Dubrule, a business man and French politician, bought an old sheepfold, surrounded with 7 hectares of vines outside the village of Cadenet. This was to be the beginning of a long lasting love story... In 1986, together with a neighbour Monsieur de la Rozière, they founded a winery and began working together. They bought wine parcels in the neighbouring villages of Vaugines, Cucuron, Cadenet and Lourmarin. The year 2000 marked a turning point, the two partners split and Paul Dubrule went on by himself. Indeed his view upon wine making and selling had evolved. He had been commissioned by the Tourism ministry and the Agriculture ministry to write a report on the situation of oenotourism in France. To fulfill his task, he studied the French offer and travelled to Spain, Portugal, Italy and other wine countries around the world. The questions he had to answer were the following : what can tourism bring to the wine growers, and what can the wine growers bring to tourism?

This is how Paul Dubrule ordered the construction of a cellar that would be both an educational and playful oenotouristic place, where he could sell his wines. He chose a contemporary architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The reconstruction began in 2012 and finished in 2017. In addition, the Architects and builders had to respect the very strict Luberon Natural Park regulations.

During the tour, your hostess will bring you into the fermentation room where you will see how the wine is made. From the reception area to the wine press and from the bottling to the labelling you will take part in the wine adventure. Then you will enter our wine cellar where our oak and acacia barrels and large vats are resting. Admire our wine library where we store our best vintages, as well as our champagnes and our selection of wines from around the world. Then you will come back into the boutique where you will taste our five wines. You can choose a normal or blind tasting. Do not forget to stop by our olfactory bar and identify which aromas are hidden in the 36 tubes.
