Bordeaux is known all over the world for its powerful reds… but the region is also a producer of dry and sweet white wines. We propose to take you south of Bordeaux for a day, to explore the region of the Graves and Sauternes vineyards.
Start the day at a family-owned property in the village of Cerons –meet with Caroline, the owner, for a visit to the magnificent 17th-century manor house surrounded by a sea of vines. Continue your visit to the old barrel cellar and modern technical facilities. Caroline loves to talk about her profession and the history of her family’s estate, so you are in for a treat!
At the end of the visit, sit down to a tasting of 3 old vintages to help you understand how wines from the Cerons appellation develop over time.
After the tasting, visit the pantry to choose the products for lunch, amongst a selection of local specialties, before sitting down for a chic picnic under the shade of the magnolias! Relax and enjoy the moment in the French countryside!
After lunch, drive along the county roads to the village of Sauternes.
Stop at a Premier Grand Cru property with a breathtaking view, and discover the magic of Sauternes wines during a comparative tasting of 3 wines.
Back to Bordeaux at the end of the day.
