This wine shop, housed in a unique hotel is located in the heart of the city - just next to the 18th century style Grand Theatre. Owned by Jean Francois Moueix’s Duclot negociant house, this shop represents the perfect place for the addicts of classified Bordeaux wines.
The inside of the building has been entirely hollowed out and reconstructed by French architect Jean Michel Rousseau, with one 12-metre high spiral staircase, where the most prestigious appellations of Bordeaux are curled up alongside the walls.
As you climb-up the stairs, and you will discover the first level where Haut Medoc, Margaux and even Pauillac wines are kept. On the second level, Saint Emilion and Pomerol will invade your senses. The third level will reveal first growths magnums like Cheval Blanc, Haut Brion, Lafite or Latour. Next you will be able to enter a special room devoted to the Pomerol classics, like the famous Petrus. On the next floor, Sauternes and white wines from Pessac Leognan estates such as Carbonnieux will be at your fingertips.
Over 15 000 bottles are prepared in an artistic way with an aim “to offer a library of prestigious Bordeaux wines, for buyers who understand and care about provenance.” At the end of the visit, enjoy a private tasting of a selection of Bordeaux wines depending on your preferences.
