The Grape Escape (Non-Adventurous) Wine Safari Experience
There is no better way to really immerse yourself in a destination, than to exit the vehicle and to explore each destination in its full splendour. The Cape winelands offer incredible scenic valleys, expansive vineyards and beautiful mountain ranges as the perfect backdrop to your day of exploration.
To start your day off you will head to the Franschhoek valley to stretch your legs. Visit a working farm dating back to 1692. Babylonstoren is a historic Cape Dutch farm that boasts one of the best-preserved farmyards in the Cape. Take a stroll through the expansive magnificent garden that comprises of fruits, vegetables, berries, bees for pollinating, indigenous plants, fragrant lawns, a prickly pear maze, ducks and chickens, and more.
From here, we head to the heart of the French Inspired Franschhoek Valley. We will explore the La Motte Wine Estate where you will have the opportunity to peruse their museum for a stimulating cultural-historical experience sharing the history of the estate as well as the curated art exhibitions. There is the option of enjoying a 5km hike on the estate, which will allow you to explore the local flora and fauna as well as abundant birdlife. Alternatively, we hit the main street of Franschhoek for some retail therapy in all the boutique shops and art galleries.
Lunch will be at the picturesque La Maison wine estate, Chef's Warehouse restaurant, offering a spectacular setting to accompany the tapas style taste sensations in their fine dining cuisine.
After Lunch, your guide will give you an overview of options as you choose between visiting Muratie – one of the oldest estates in Stellenbosch; or Kanonkop, located on the Simonsberg Mountains.
