A Journey of Provenance at Yalumba
Established in 1849, Yalumba is renowned for its leadership within the Australian wine industry and strong focus on progressive thinking and sustainability.
The "A Journey of Provenance" experience gives guests an insider’s view into the art of winegrowing at Australia’s oldest family owned winery.
The tour begins in our Tasting Room with a short history of Yalumba’s Hill-Smith family, before moving to the Yalumba Nursery, where unknown grape varietals from all over the world are being nurtured and trialed. Guests will then visit the Tri-Centenary vineyard, planted in 1889 and home to wonderous, gnarled Bush-Vine Grenache vines.
On return to Yalumba, guests will enjoy a unique behind the scenes tour of the winery including a barrel making demonstration within the Yalumba Cooperage, a walk through the treasure trove of the Hill-Smith family’s private museum cellar and tasting of Rare, Fine and Distinguished wines direct from the barrel.
Lunch will be served at the award winning Vintners Bar & Grill restaurant in Angaston and will feature wines expertly matched to locally sourced gourmet fare.
