Mulhouse has an industrial history so perhaps not what you would expect for a food and wine tour, but it is right on the edge of some of the most beautiful vineyard country of Alsace.
Arrive in Mulhouse and check in to your hotel. Spend the afternoon discovering the city, its motor and railway museum as well as its town centre with a mixture of modern and traditional architectural styles. Before diner, your guide will introduce you to the wines of Alsace with a private tutored tasting. Discover the personalities of the four major grapes; Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Muscat, Pinot Gris and the blends used for the sparkling Crémant.
There is a wide choice of great restaurants in the city, your guide will organise a wine and food tasting exploration of the specialities of the region to see how well the wines of Alsace match with food.
Highlights
Head North on the oldest wine route in France to the Joseph Cattin winery. You will discover breath-taking views over the Alsace vineyards, the Vosges Mountains, the Alsace Plain, the Black Forest, and even the Swiss Alps on a Segway ride through the beautiful vineyards. End your experience with a selection of traditional Alsace food served in the original Alsatian winery. Wines will be selected for you and presented by the wine maker to accompany each dish.
This afternoon you will continue through the vineyard-covered foothills, to one of the beautiful Alsace villages with its half-timbered houses; Eguisheim.
This evening, choose from one of the villages of Rhiqewihr, Hunawihr and Mittelwihr and stay in a traditional half-timbered hotel. Discover the village on foot before dinner in a cosy winstub (a typical Alsatian restaurant).

Continue through the vineyards today, stopping for another tasting with a wine maker at their vineyard before arriving in Colmar. Have lunch in Colmar and spend time discovering the Little Venice area of the city. Tonight, you will dine and stay in Colmar.
