Cataloged as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Toledo is a thousand-year-old masterpiece created by various cultures including the Romans, Moors, Jews and Christians. Its heyday was in the 16th century when it became the capital of the mighty Spanish empire. The beautifully preserved buildings of this ancient town provide striking testimony of Toledo’s rich and colorful past.
The Martúe winery is located in the province of Toledo, an area with excellent environmental conditions for the production of high quality wines. Join your private driver and set off for La Guardia, Toledo to meet the wine expert who will guide you during your visit.
The vineyards are divided into two land properties: Campo Martuela, planted with Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Syrah; and El Casar with the same red varieties plus Malbec and a white variety, Chardonnay.
The Martúe winery has been distinguished with the "Pago"qualification, the highest one contemplated by the Spanish legislation for wines, even above the Denomination of Origin. The concept of "Pago" applied to wine refers to a vineyard located in a special enclave, with unique soils and a privileged climate that gives the wine unique qualities. There are only thirteen wineries in Spain with this distinction.
After the winery visit and tasting, your driver will take you back to your hotel in Madrid, or to Toledo for a private guided walking tour of the city.
