This is a 4 day tour designed to discover the most prestigious Spanish wine regions: Rioja and Ribera del Duero.
We will select a variety of wineries so you can develop a good knowledge of the wines of these regions.
You will visit large production facilities and small producers, family owned wineries, traditional wineries and modern ones designed by famous architects, even centenary cellars.
You will meet owners and winemaker and taste some of the most recognized Spanish wines.
All the visits to bodegas include a tasting of the wines produced.
Since wine and food are both protagonists in our gourmet meals, you will taste traditional food and also some of the more creative food that is putting Spain on the gastronomic map of the world.
This tour is designed to cover the highlights of each wine region. We usually include visits to two or three wineries everyday with the extended wine tasting, but we also include our heritage: sites of historical or artistic interest, monasteries, castles, churches and palaces, and ancient medieval towns.
You will spend two days in Ribera and two days in Rioja.
In Ribera we can visit the millenary town of Segovia with the two-thousand-year old Roman aqueduct, and in Rioja we can include a visit to the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, a 21st century architectonic marvel as well, completing the quick course in Spanish history through wine.
Accommodation will be in our favorite exclusive hotels, not only because they are the best in the region, but also because there are wonderful singular buildings: a monastery in Ribera and an architectonical piece of art in Rioja.
Your guide is a wine expert from the area. A true insider who will make sure the tour is flawless with excellent English and good sense of humor, at the end it is all about enjoying.
