Get ready to be captivated by exceptional wines and the magnificent scenery along the coastline in Bandol, one of the first regions where the Phoenicians came to cultivate the land. The area is surrounded by geological barriers: "Big Brain" in the South, “Mount Caume” in the East, the massif of “Sainte Baume" in the North, and a natural opening to the Gulf of Bandol.
The French wine-making region of Bandol is one of Provence’s most internationally recognized wine regions. The Bandol AOC covers the production of 8 communes with a warm climate ideally suited for the late-ripening Mourvèdre grape - the main varietal of the region, which accounts for at least 50% of the blend for both the red and rosé wines. Grenache and Cinsaut grapes make up for the rest.
From the Massif de la Sante-Baume down to the shore of the Mediterranean, the vine is an integral part of the landscape and its presence is felt everywhere. The vineyard lies in a natural amphitheater, with the vines planted on terraces called “restanqes”. On this fully-customizable wine tour, an expert guide will accompany you to explain the history of the local wines and wine-growing techniques in this sunny region that receives nearly 3,000 hours of sun exposure a year.
