Porto is ideally explored as a city break destination but is also a convenient base from which to explore northern Portugal. Whilst Port wine still remains Porto’s most famous export, life here is anything but aged. The city is truly vibrant and visitors can be assured of a great nightlife, daring restaurants and a blossoming cultural scene.

It is a historic and varied city, from the warren of narrow streets that make up the ancient Ribeira district through to the grand plazas of the Avenida dos Aliados. The region is famed for the production of Port, which is still stored in the vast cellars that stretch along the banks of the mighty Douro River. This guide will provide an introduction to Porto and links to further detailed tourist information

Portugal has a rich history of nearly one thousand years spread across various continents, and the proof is in its gastronomy: from the Mediterranean fish, the spices of Africa and India, the chocolates and coffee of Brazil, the techniques from Asia, each dish has its story for you to discover on this day!

The "Petiscos tour" will start at your hotel by meeting our friendly and knowledgeable guide and transfer by taxi to the starting point of the experience. From here, begin your walk through the delightful streets of Lisbon’s downtown.

Our stops include one of Lisbon’s bustling markets where you will taste a local specialty with a first wine, while feeling the ambience of a Portuguese market. Afterwards a short walk to a cozy and traditional restaurant with a delightful atmosphere. Here we will taste Portuguese “petiscos” of typical ingredients accompanied with a second wine. Finally, end the visit with a sweet and coffee, or as the locals call it the “Bica”.
