An architectural masterpiece inspired by the Gothic and Renaissance styles, Le Château Royal de Cognac opens its doors to allow visitors to discover its history and some of the secrets of how our Cognacs are made.
The tour begins in the historic part of Le Château where visitors explore sumptuous rooms such as the States Room, where King François I used to receive guests. This room which is caracterized by its Renaissance architecture is quite different to other parts of Le Château which date back to the Middle Ages. The tour then moves on to Le Château cellars, which offer exceptional aging conditions. Here, visitors are given a detailed explanation of how Baron Otard Cognacs are made.
The tour ends with a guided tasting* of Baron Otard VSOP and XO Gold, our house’s flagship Cognac, combining the finesse of fruity aromas with the smoothness of a hint of honey, enhanced by a touch of violet. The long period of time which these eaux-de-vie spend aging in Le Château cellars gives them their amber colour, the sign of a hugely distinguished cognac.
