Founded in 1893 by Ernest Brédif, la Maison Brédif was bought over in 1980 by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette. The troglodytes caves, which were carved out of the rock from the 8th century are amongst the largest and most beautiful of the area.
Withheld inside these cellars, we find some very rare wines, certain vintages date back to 1874. Depending on the plot, the subsoil (limestone, rocky or sandy), the exposure and the age of the vines, here at Brédif, we vinify three types of wines: the Classic Vouvray, the Nectar (noble rot selection for certain vintages) as well as Vigne Blanche coming from vines of the same name and exclusive property of the Maison which produces a high quality dry white wine. The Maison Brédif also produces red and rose wines on the Chinon Appellation; amongst other, we offer the prestigious Chinon Private Reserve.
During your private visit, you will get the chance to discover our fascinating troglodytes cellars carved out in limestone from the 8th century. Step by step, along the mile-long gallery, we will reveal some of our secrets of making great wines. Enjoy this unforgettable experience!
