The Domaine de Marie was born from the encounter between a man and his passion. Jean-Louis Sibuet, the owner, bought the Domaine in 2000 and undertook the redevelopment of the vineyard.
"The old noble grape varieties such as Grenache and Syrah have been conserved while the lower quality ones were removed and replaced by new ones such as Roussanne, Vermantino, Cinsault and Mourvedre. Gradually, he passed on his love for wine to his son Nicolas, who in turn dedicated himself to the family adventure, playing his role in bringing the Domaine wines up to a level of excellence", explains Arnaud Bressi, the head winemaker.
Through hard work and attentive care, this fertile earth has given birth to two white wines, one rosé and three red AOC Luberon wines with subtle, unique aromas that express the Domaine de Marie's terroir. You will sample wines with a distinct personality, bursting with sun-filled flavor.
Domaine de Marie
It is here, tucked between Gordes and Bonnieux that the 57 acres of Le Domaine de Marie cultivates its vineyards among the four different soils. Each soil has its own microclimate as well as its structure of ground and a different exposure. This variety enables to play with the quality and the aromatic subtleties of every soil during the elaboration of wines.
Technology combines with ancient techniques
The Domaine de Marie winery uses the latest technological innovations : grape harvesting is done by gravity. It allows a smooth arrival of the grapes to preserve quality, which are then scuffed and trampled. The winemaking cellar is equipped with stainless-steel tanks and wood tanks, which are thermo-regulated, for perfect control of fermentation temperatures,as well as new oval concrete tanks for the vinification of white wine. The wine storage cellar ideally located underground against the natural rock, allows to obtain a temperature and hygrometry, giving the best conditions for the red wines to ripen in oak barrel.
