An ancient hamlet in the heart of Chianti Classico

Exclusive wine experiences at Cinciano in Chianti Classico in Chianti, Italy

All the ingredients for a relaxing stay in the heart of Chianti : Tasting of Cinciano wines, culinary discovery in Osteria 1126 or an an overnight stay in the beautiful Sienese hills.

Surrounded by the green Chianti Classico’s countryside between Siena and Florence, Cinciano stands on top of a hill in the Val d'Elsa area with a beautiful view on San Gimignano.

The hamlet, owned since the 80's by Garrè Family, is developed around a medieval Borgo finely restored which welcomes its guests in a warm and comfortable atmosphere. A long, typically Tuscan cypress-lined avenue leads uphill to the hamlet. The first news about Cinciano date back to 1126, when this property was donated to the archbishop of Florence from Ridolfo da Catignano's widow, Zaballina, who still gives her name to the historic Villa located in the centre of the Borgo. To the right of the buildings stands a tower, with part of the medieval walls still visible at its base.

The vineyards extend for 24 hectares, surrounded by 15000 olive trees and a large wood. The heterogeneity of the soils and the different exposures and altitudes of the land make Cinciano a perfect environment for wine production, focused on the enhancement of Sangiovese but also attentive to the cultivation and processing of international vines such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.

Visitors can come to taste our wines and visit the cellars, discovering the secrets of processing. In addition to the wines, you can taste and buy Extra Virgin Olive Oil, produced on site, from Cinciano and enjoy the delicious courses of the Osteria 1126, which combines the Tuscan tradition with attention to raw materials and the taste of contemporary cuisine.
