Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo is a unique place in the heart of the Douro region, faithfully reproducing the ancient character and aromas left behind by man over generations. Unusually beautiful, it runs along the north bank of the river Douro for 1.5kms and its 120ha tell the story of 250 years of wine production (1764).
In this recognized Winery House visitors arrive in the 18th century manor house, hosting a boutique wine hotel with 11 rooms facing the landscape. The classic details of the service, the tasty and homemade breakfast, the schist and local woods coating the spaces and Portuguese carpets and pottery beautifying the rooms are accompanied by the team's care that welcomes everyone with a smile.
The old wing of the house used to guard machines and animals gave place to an unmissable shed filled with comfortable sofas, overlooking the 80 years old vines. The gardens, the stream and the orchards where you can pick fruit, the landmark (1758) and the infinite pool, the walking trails with shade for picnics, the wine restaurant and the chapels (1785) are ideal places to feel wine and its historical essence.
