Ours is a modern American restaurant meant to speak to and positively impact the Napa Valley. What excites us most is garnering relationships with artisans, growers, foragers and other members of this dynamic place. We hope that their stories can meld with ours; that we can be caretakers of this collective vision--sharing it with our guests in a manner at once personal and celebratory.
Food
We strive for seriousness, for meaning, and for permanence in our cooking. We attempt to cook in service to the place in which we find ourselves--hoping that, if we succeed in doing so well, that we may cement our legacy within this greater thing. We hold the thread of the multitudes of collaborators and of a history shared by chefs and cooks that have preceded us. We try to do things right in how we shop and cook; how we approach the sanctity of the products that we grow and procure; how we teach and mentor and support our team. We are relentless in trying to make the food better, more delicious, more relevant, more singular, more personal. We are smart enough to know that this is a forever task, yet impetuous enough to try to still do it all today. Our food is what we give of ourselves. It is at once our daily efforts and their culmination.
Wine
Just as a chef is inspired by their natural surroundings, resources and people, so too is a sommelier. Blessed with such proximity to America's most celebrated vintners and growers, our wine team strives to embrace the values inherent in this community including a commitment to experimentation, excellence, entrepreneurialism and collaboration.
Bar
Our bar program is focused on house distilled spirits and cordials, as well as balanced and uncluttered cocktails. Mirroring the food and service, our bar team's approach is old world in its conviviality and depth of knowledge. The result is a classic style of bartending- focused on creating and procuring the best and showcasing those products with focus and restraint.
Culinary Garden
Our 2.5 acre Culinary Garden grows unique, seasonally appropriate crops using organic and sustainable techniques. Emphasis is placed on experimentation with new crops and varieties, new growing and cultivation methods, and the utilization of all edible portions of the plant and the plant’s life-cycle. This production is in constant service of, and aims to cultivate a broader mission – serving as a direct relationship between the natural landscape, the food system, and the community. This relationship represents not only a respect for the Garden as a part of the ecosystem but also the Farm as an opportunity for inspiration, health, and education.
