Morning tasting at Achaval Ferrer, an award-winning winery,to explore the concept of Terroir as we taste their Malbec production from its different estates. By late morning we will visit Susana Balbo's winery for a hands-on culinary experience of Argentina's traditional cooking techniques.

The central valley of Mendoza is historically the birthplace of Argentina's wine making tradition, which started over a century ago from both Italian and Spanish immigrants.

In the morning, we visit the award-winning winery Achaval Ferrer, and explore the concept of terroir while tasting wines produced at different altitude estates. Then, it is on to Susana Balbo Wines, where our chef instructor will guide you throughout the preparation of some delicious regional recipes such as empanadas and our world-famous asado (BBQ) on a hands-on cooking class. You will learn about the traditional ingredients of the region and you will combine them to achieve truly Argentinian flavors. The class also includes the visit to the Chef's garden and the symbolic Argentinian ritual of Mate (traditional infusion).

This is a unique opportunity to share and celebrate the culinary heritage of our country, led by a head chef, who will give you invaluable insight into how some of our most renowned national dishes came to be, and will tell you about the “gaucho” folklore around them. The best part? You get to stay for lunch!

After relaxing over lunch surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Andes, you will return to your accomodation mid-afternoon.
