Chilean Food & Wine Escapade

A great Chile guided tour for a true epicurean adventure. Start with a walk through Santiago’s historic sites including the must do Central Market. Taste wines at Maipo Valley, stay in a Wine hacienda in Casablanca valley and finish your tour in the colourful Valparaiso.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Santiago

Upon arrival at Santiago´s airport, you are welcomed and transferred to your hotel to freshen up.

You spend the early afternoon on an easy walk through Santiago, its traditional and modern districts set against the scenic backdrop of the Andes. You walk to the historic center, its Plaza de Armas and Cathedral, and a few steps up to enjoy sweeping views of the city from Santa Lucia Hill. Along the way, you stop at the City's most celebrated cafeterías and ice cream shops to sample unique local flavors.

Later on, you enjoy a wine tasting paired with tapas at Bocanariz, Santiago's most renowned wine bar. Evening at your leisure, to explore on your own varied dining options.

Day 2: Carmeneres & Cabs of Maipo Valley

After breakfast, you leave the city and drive towards Maipo Valley, the landlocked cradle of Chilean wine-making traditions.

Just west of the main Cordillera you enter Viña Santa Rita. You first visit its historic Hacienda, with its lavish gardens. The property itself had an important role on the Independence war that liberated the country.

Then it is time for tasting some of their premium wines. Route to Haras de Pirque Winery, whose founders have excelled in blending two national passions: Horses & Wines.

Enjoy lunch at the winery before returning to your hotel in Santiago.

Day 3: Ocean breeze wines of Casablanca Valley

This morning, you drive west for about an hour into Casablanca Valley.

Check in at the Hacienda at Matetic Winery.

Lunch at the hacienda and afternoon visit to the state of the art, modern winery. Enjoy some horse back riding, leisure away by the pool, or walk among the infinite vineyards

Day 4: Casablanca & Valparaiso

The valley benefits from a cool ocean breeze that makes this terroir a perfect one for some of the best Sauvignon Blancs and Chardonnays produced in the country.

Your morning visit is to award-winning winery Bodegas RE, a small estate where the Morande family, several generations into wine, applies a concept of ancestry into the elaboration of premium wines, to the extent of producing some of their wines in the family's old jars.

Later on, you visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of coastal Valparaiso. Historically the main port of Chile and built almost entirely on steep hills, the city holds a well-deserved reputation among foodies.

Enjoy time for lunch at one of the vibrant local spots and in the afternoon, you wander through town admiring some stunning street art and graffiti.

Day 5: Transfer to Santiago airport

After breakfast, transfer of your choice to either centric Santiago, or to the International Airport to board connecting flights.
