A full D-Day experience that brings you from the Memorial Museum in Caen to the Landing beaches- with a great time in Carentan les Marais that will offer you another memorable time in the D-day experience museum. To get a whole vision of what was life during the WW2, a visit of Falaise with its civil war museum is also included.

Day 1:

Meet your driver/guide in Bayeux, situated between Caen and the landing beaches, Bayeux is a perfect location for your 2 days tour package.

This first day is dedicated to the Memorial Museum in Caen. It’s the largest museum in France mostly dedicated to WW2 and the battle of Normandy, named Overlord operation.

Plan a 3 hours’ visit in the museum to get a full picture of what took place from June 1944 to August 1944.

It’s now time to reach the Suisse Normande region a deep breath more than welcome in your emotional discover of Normandy. Here you will appreciate the ride in the oldest mountains in Europe. Located at the end of the Armorican Massif, this little paradise offers you a diversity of astonishing and preserved landscapes. The region is well known as a big inspiration for the Norman impressionists painters.

Your driver will bring you to Falaise, a medieval city in Normandy, birthplace of William the Conqueror. Enjoy your lunch inside the fortified town. There are plenty of local restaurants and creperies !

After a little walk on the fortifications that surround the city, le circuit des remparts, it’s time for another great time in your Souvenir trip : The Falaise Memorial. It’s the only museum dedicated to the fate of civilians during the period of Occupation in Normandy with also a space dedicated to the liberation.

Day 2 :

This 2nd day is totally dedicated to the Landing beaches.

From Sainte Marie du Mont to Ouistreham via Colleville and Arromanches, The five beaches cover a section of 70km (50 miles). It starts from the West with Utah beach and Omaha beach where American paratroopers landed, then Gold beach, British paratroopers, then Juno beach, Canadian ones and to finish Sword beach other British soldiers. Around these 5 beaches, you will find cemeteries, bunkers, memorial. Omaha beach is certainly the most emotional, with its magnificent sculpute on the beach and the intensity of the American cemetery while Gold beach is very fascinating visually. The view from the cliffs on the temporary harbor that appears at low tide is…You will decide with your private guide the ones you prefer to see depending of your expectations.

During the afternoon, you will be driven to Carentan les Marais known for it strategic location in 1944, the city has to be liberated first to ensure the junction of the US troops between Utah and Omaha beach. After a lunch under the arcades dating of the 14th century, take your time for a little walk in the city. Admire it authentic lavoir dated 1786, the impressive Notre Dame church with it bell tower 60 meters high. It’s now time to head up the D-day experience Museum. It invites you to live an memorable experience combining education and entertainment. The must do here is the flight in a genuine C47 aircraft! Built in 1943, Stoy Hora (the name of the aircraft was piloted by colonel Wolverton. After the war, the British Royal Mail bought it before it was purchased by Steven Spielberg for the the filming “Band of Brothers” aired on HBO in 2001. Embark on it and feel the reality of what the 13,000 paratroopers lived on the June 06 1944.
