The Leflaives can trace their Burgundian history back to Claude Leflaive who made his home in Place du Monument in Puligny-Montrachet in 1717. Since then, the family has always owned vines in Burgundy. The history of the estate truly began with Joseph who was born in 1870.
In 1981, Olivier Leflaive returned to his roots and came back to Burgundy to help run the family estate with his uncle Vincent. In 1984, he created the Olivier Leflaive Company, with the help of his brother Patrick and his uncle. He was a trailblazer in the region, deciding to buy in grapes and musts to vinify them himself. As such, he created the notion of haute-couture winemaking.
For many years, Olivier and Patrick have wanted to grow the estate, and taking over the family legacy of the Domaine Leflaive seemed like a natural development in their shared adventure.
The pioneer in wine tourism in Burgundy, Olivier Leflaive, invites you to an immersive and educational tour of his Domaine in Puligny-Montrachet, leaving from the hotel. For 90 minutes, follow a guided walking tour among the World Heritage listed climats of Puligny-Montrachet. Our sommelier will explain: Terroir (geology, pedology, climate), classification (history, structure), viticulture in Burgundy
The vineyard tour is followed by a 1 hour cellar tour to enjoy a glass of Burgundy with us during the presentation the family’s Puligny-Montrachet cellars and winemaking. You will learn more about: harvests, fermentation, barrel aging, bottling… and so much more.
You can come and taste our wines directly in the Bar of our Hotel-Restaurant our during lunch and dinner in the Bistro or in our Gastronomic Restaurant.
