Situated on the oldest wine-growing terroir in the Bordeaux area, Château Malartic-Lagravière, which was owned by the Comte de Malartic, admiral of the King of France in the XVIII century, was taken over by the Bonnie family in 1997 and entirely renovated.
When the Bonnies bought the property, their priority was the vineyard and the technical facilities, but they applied the same commitment and enthusiasm to the renovation of the château itself. The historic residence dates from the 1850s and has been completely restored and considerably enlarged. Having awakened this sleeping beauty, it was necessary to create a setting worthy of such magnificence!
The 53 hectares (131 acres) estate, including 7 hectares (17 acres) of white cepages, are located on one of the famous outcrops of the region. Based on the gravity concept, the high-performance vat house, devoted entirely to traditional wine-making methods, is recognized to date as one of the most modern and efficient. The greatest attention is given to the vineyard, situated on a superb dry clay gravels terroir. With an overall and constant plowing, the vines are cared for following the latest concepts of sustainable farming and High Environmental Value (certified).
Château Malartic-Lagravière is one of the only six Classified Growths with both red and white wines. These are well-known all over the world for their complexity, elegance, intensity and balance, which are appreciated in all the best places.
The art of hospitality at Malartic would be nothing without fine wines and gastronomy. The resident chef will delight your taste buds with dishes that make a perfect pairing for the Malartic's wines.
The Château and its gardens are like a family house where the Malartic’s team aims to entertain and receive their visitors and wine lovers with our customized wine tours, seminars or private events, cooking classes, pairing tastings, private lunches or dinners at the Château…
