Discover an unique immersive experience in the world

Château La Fleur de Boüard was born when Hubert de Boüard de Laforest, co-owner of the famous Château Angelus, fell for this terroir located on the hillside facing the finest Pomerol growths.

Activities

Nestled in the heart of the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation, close to the iconic Château Pétrus, the lands of Château La Fleur de Boüard belonged to a passionate producer who lovingly cultivated his vines. It is a healthy vineyard, spared the horrors of over-production, a hidden gem.

TERROIR

The great diversity of the vineyard’s soils gives this terroir a generous nature that is favourable for the estate’s mix of grape varieties (80% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot), which are vinified plot by plot to refine their balance. Extensive research is being carried out to plant rootstocks adapted to climate change and to carry out mass selections. Here there are 18 hectares of gravel subsoil, and 11 hectares of coarse gravel containing 15% clay. A high-quality soil, fertile and arid, an ideal composition for the vine. Environmentally friendly agroecological practices are reflected in the cultivation of the soil, avoiding the use of chemical herbicides.

TECHNIQUE

Extracting the quintessence of the terroir

The new facilities, which combine the transparency of glass with the nobility of wood, embody this daring approach, in which nature is welcome and the quality of the work is remarkable. The building, seamlessly integrated into the landscape of the estate, contains 28 inverted truncated cone-shaped tanks, which seem to float in the air and make ingenious use of gravity.
