Luxury gourmet experience in Sicily

Excellent Etna wines in a unique setting

Discover the exquisite wines of Cottanera Winery paired with delicious food

Theme : Gourmet Experiences Duration : From 1 to 3 hours Groups : No

Chosen by the company, the name Cottanera comes from an ancient rural hamlet that lies on the edges of the family vineyards, along the banks of the Alcantara River.
Cottanera is a jewel of 100 contiguous hectares, of which 65 are under vine. The vineyards and the cellar are located in Castiglione di Sicilia (CT), where all the phases of production are carried out, from harvest to bottling.

The philosophy that drives the estate is that the land is an invaluable asset. Originally planted with international varietals, the estate has gradually introduced native grape varieties, traditionally grown on Mount Etna, such as Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante

You mustn't visit Cottanera without discovering how wine is made in such a unique environment. An expert guide will take you round the winery before hosting a tasting of wines from four select districts- Etna DOC Bianco Contrada Feudo di Mezzo, Etna Bianco Contrada Calderara, Etna Rosso Contrada Feudo di Mezzo, Etna Rosso Contrada Diciasettesalme- and an exclusive tasting of the Etna rosato. The experience wouldn't be complete without a skilful pairing of food with the wines. Start with the mouthwatering appetizers: our very own Cottanera olive oil drizzled on bread baked in a wood-fired oven. Then tuck into a three course meal of traditional Sicilian recipes. Dessert and coffee should be enjoyed as you drink in the amazing volcanic views.
