Begin your day with a walking tour of Cannes, known internationally as the star-studded center of the film world. Take a private guided tour of the Palais des Festivals, the site of the annual Cannes Film Festival, and La Croisette, with its array of designer boutiques, elegant hotels and beach clubs. For a study in contrasts, climb the steep winding street to Le Suquet, the old town, with its 16th century Notre Dame de l’Esperance church and stunning views over the port.
In the afternoon, set sail from the port of Cannes to the Lérins Islands (Îles des Lérins) in a luxurious private yacht. After taking time for swimming, snorkeling or simply sunning, head to Île Sainte-Marguerite, the larger and closer of the two islands, for a gourmet seaside lunch featuring Mediterranean specialties, followed by a visit to the Musée de la Mer and the Fort Royal, the prison where The Man in the Iron Mask was incarcerated. Meander along the trails through pine and eucalyptus trees, stopping for a refreshing dip in one of the islands many coves. At the end of the afternoon, sail to the nearby Île Sainte-Honorat, owned by 21 Cistercian monks who still occupy the island’s monastery, using traditional methods to produce wines and liquers for a range of illustrious clients from heads of state at the G20 summit to the jury of the Cannes Film Festival. Enjoy an evening tasting of the monks’ white wines produced from the island’s vineyards of Clairette, Chardonnay and Viognier grapes, as well as exceptional reds made with Syrah, Mourvèdre and Pinot Noir, before sailing back to shore.
Ideal for couples, families and small groups, this special sailing-and-wine experience is also adaptable for your corporate incentive programs.
