Stellenbosch is a town in the Western Cape region of South Africa. It is one of the most renowned wine regions in the country. With just a hours's drive away from the big city of Cape Town, the wine region of Stellenbosch is replete with day-trippers looking for an incredible wine-tasting experience. It is the second largest European settlement in South Africa after Cape Town.

Stellenbosch has a growing reputation as a premium wine-growing region and has also made its mark on the global front with its delicious Cabernet Sauvignon wines. The region along with Paarl and Franschhoek for the Cape Winelands region of South Africa, which is the biggest wine-growing region of the country.

Kanonkop Estate is situated on the lower slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain in the Stellenbosch Region of the Cape and confidently boasts with some of South Africa’s most premium wines.

Kanonkop is a fourth generation family estate, which has been handed down from father to son for over 40 years and is now in the talented, capable hands of its current owners Paul & Johann Krige.

Kanonkop Estate has been described by those in the know as being the South African equivalent of a Premier Cru or First Growth. International awards accumulated over more than a decade have gone a long way to substantiate these claims.
