History & Philosophy
Susana Balbo founded Susana Balbo Wines in 1999 after 20 years as a consultant winemaker in Argentina and international markets. Ten years later, her two children, Jose and Ana, joined the team to continue the family tradition. Today, the winery is recognized as one of the best in Argentina – all of its wines have received top scores from major wine publications, and the Susana Balbo White Blend was named as one of Argentina’s best white wines in 2016.
Since Susana’s early days as Argentina’s first female winemaker, entrepreneurship, creativity and quality have been core elements of her team’s philosophy. The winery reflects these principles in its state-of-the-art technology, meticulous manual cultivation and selection of grapes, and inventive expression of traditional Argentinian varietals. The team at Susana Balbo Wines is passionate about sharing these values with visitors.
Wine Tourism
The philosophy at Susana Balbo Wines is that wine expresses itself through moments. Special experiences have been designed around all of their wines, whether it’s a five-course pairing menu at Osadía de Crear restaurant, an authentic Argentinian asado, a family lunch a la carte, or a relaxed picnic in the garden with wine-based cocktails.
The team at Susana Balbo Wines strives to provide authentic, educational experiences that guests can take home to enhance their everyday interactions with wine. Visitors interested in taking a hands-on approach can participate in cooking classes, experimental food pairings and blending competitions.
The winery prides itself on the quality of its food, wines and experiences, and in its flexibility to cater to individual preferences.
