Day 1: Waiheke Island - The Boatshed

Known as the jewel of Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf for its beauty and tranquility. Waiheke Island offers award-winning wines and vineyard restaurants, olive oils, plump oysters straight from the sea and hand-made specialty foods. A 'small is beautiful’ philosophy yields low quantities of extremely high quality fruit for amazing wines.

Today, enjoy a Gourmet Food & Wine Tour on Waiheke Island, your knowledgeable local guide will take you to some of the Island’s highly-regarded vineyards, where you can taste their fine wines and learn about this unique region. Enjoy lunch at one of the islands top restaurants.

 

Day 2: Waiheke Island - The Boatshed

Today is at leisure to enjoy some of the following optional activities:

Day 3: Hawke's Bay - The Farm at Cape Kidnappers

Hawke’s Bay is one of New Zealand’s oldest wine regions renowned for high quality red wines such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah as well as rich and complex Chardonnays. The region is also known as the fruit bowl of New Zealand and offers some wonderful food artisans to visit.

Today, enjoy a Gourmet Food & Wine Tour in the Hawke's Bay, you will have the chance to visit some of the great wineries such as Craggy Range, Trinity Hill, Mission Estate, Te Mata Estate, Church Road, Black Barn, Elephant Hill and Te Awa, just to name a few! Visit creative food producers on their land where you can taste, touch and smell the myriad of tantalizing products they make from the deep soils. Visit gourmet cottage industries such as a local Olivery, Figgery and the Arataki Honey Centre, where you will be able to enjoy some tastings and learn more about these industries. There is also a local cheese factory for you to be able to taste a range of cow and sheep cheeses. Sample the fruit off the trees of a working orchard or enjoy a visit to the Strawberry Patch where you can pick your own if you choose.

 

Day 4: Hawke's Bay - The Farm at Cape Kidnappers

Enjoy a Winery Tour by Bike in the Hawke's Bay today. Your cycle starts at the boutique winery of Black Barn in Havelock North where you have the opportunity to taste their wines. You can also visit the vineyard’s ‘We Love Local’ gourmet food store and view the amphitheatre and market site which makes Black Barn unique. A short ride will then take you to Te Mata Estate winery before continuing to Origin Earth to taste some of their excellent, artisan cheeses. It is then time to join the Landscapes Trail for a scenic, off road cycle to the coast through stunning orchard country, also passing by vineyards, olive groves, horse studs and farmland - all on flat terrain with wonderful vistas. On arrival in the coastal village of Haumoana enjoy lunch at the acclaimed Elephant Hill Winery Restaurant before a final tasting at Clearview Estate.

 

Day 5: Hawke's Bay - The Farm at Cape Kidnappers
